Eye Of The Beholder — Exhibit at the Northampton Senior Center

Eye Of The Beholder will be up at the Northampton Senior Center Hallway Gallery for February and March, 2026. Get yourself a coffee at the cafe and check out the work! Reception Friday February 13, 5-7 pm. You can find the images in the galleries.
The show consists of nature-based abstracts. I have been wanting to do this since I went back to photography 11 years ago. Despite all evidence to the contrary, we think of photography as a medium for registering, witnessing, what “is.” But I am all about the eye of the beholder. That is, the camera is not doing the seeing, I am. The camera is a tool. My eye, my brain, my heart, my emotions make the image. I connect what I see to what I bring with me. I have manipulated my images from the day I first set foot in the darkroom, in 1982 or so, and I continue to do so. That’s not the same as using artificial intelligence to make images. At this time I don’t use AI for photography, though that is also just a tool. What you see here is photography that has been digitally manipulated, not digital art.
